Made some good headway on our project today, and with the bright sun and temp. in the low 40’s by noon, it was time for quick run to the Gallatin.  Fishing was predictably slow, with bumps now and then on dark stonefly nymphs in the deeper runs, and a couple of small fish to hand later on big juicy olive Hare’s Ears.  We were fishing some nice runs just above Greek Creek, and were amazed at how deep the snow was today in spots - easily waist deep (I’m 6′2″) and a bit of a chore to move through.  No fish pics today - these guys were nothing to brag about but worth the effort.  It was 44 and brilliantly sunny when we came off the water at 2:25 - warm enough to lounge in a long sleeve T and shorts in the truck on the way back to town.  Lots of midges on the water with no rises today - spring fishing is knocking on the door.
