Had a chance to run up the Gallatin for a few hours this afternoon, we were in the canyon about 10 miles below Big Sky, working a couple of deeper runs that are typically productive. We brought several spunky little bows to hand in hour and a half on big Hare’s Ears (olive more productive than natural) with droppers (the devil worm and Princes). The weather was decent - about 36, overcast, with snow late. Fair number of midges on the water later in the afternoon. We ran on up to the Big Sky turnoff for coffee afterwards and it was snowing like crazy up there. Back in the valley it was sunny and 42, with a great view as always back to the southwest.
