Despite the near continuous heat and low flows of the mid summer season, Slough Creek is fishing pretty well, particularly in the upper meadows.
Slough Creek is one of the many Yellowstone waters under special regulations right now - basically the creek is closed from 2 PM to 5 AM. We feel that most waters should really be closed by noon - or whenever water temps rise into the high 60s. You can however fish Soda Butte above Ice Box Canyon after 2 PM - use common sense and check water temps.
Right now look for PMDs and waning Flavs AM until midmorning; hoppers are a reasonable search pattern otherwise, rig with a small nymph dropper. Beetles and ants are another decent bet.
