Today’s weater map for south central Montana and the Park highlights why we’re beginning to see some fires pop up around the area. Summer is here, the verdant green grasses of our wet spring are drying out, and it’s past time to be thinking about the fire season. The red area on the map is a red flag warning for low humidities, heat, and wind. Several fires started last year when guys parked cars and trucks in high grass and the hot muffler / exhaust ignited the dry grass; not as common as some numbskull chucking cigarettes out the window, but something to think about when heading off to the river.

We’ve also had several folks ask what the fall weather outlook is for guys and gals planning fall trips to the area. Below are the temperature and precip forecast maps for the September - October - November window; things are projected to be about average for the neighborhood - that’s great in our book. This fall should be extraordinary.
Looking to the season winter it looks like another dry cycle may be setting in - you don’t want to miss this year’s great water…….
