Slough has had a pretty steady week, though there have lots of boots on the ground over there.  The gang over at Park’s in Gardiner even has a comment up on their fishing report page about being sure to give people room over here – don’t crowd fishers here.

This week’s report sounds a bit like last week.  PMDs and Drakes are still the go to hatches in the later mornings; we’ve had reports of both Gray and Green Drakes this past week.  Note that the mayfly hatches in the morning can be a bit sparse some days.   Midges are more of a player afternoon and evening, and terrestrials are a reasonable bet (run a nymph dropper) when the hatches are thin. Caddis have been stronger in the evenings and worth staying late for.  We fished it a bit on Monday afternoon and didn’t see great numbers of Spruce Moths, but they should be around in the more opportune time windows.

Bugs remain an issue, though as things dry out in the August heat it should get a little better.  You’ll still need spray for both bugs and bears.
