Finally a neighbor went down to the cascade corner this past week, and brought back another first hand report.
Terrestrials ruled the day as you’d expect this time of year; hoppers, beetles, black and cinnamon ants – pretty much the full team. He used classic patterns, foam patters, some crazy stuff – it all worked.
There apparently are PMDs mid-day with some spinner falls in the mornings, and caddis in the evenings. He saw very few green Drakes, and no gray Drakes (it is a bit early). Ad can happen on both the Bechler and Fall, he did see some baetis on a cloudy afternoon.
He did also warn that the mosquitoes are ravenous, as bad as he’s seen in several years.
