We’re going to continue combining our Bechler and Fall reports into one as we did last week. The name will probably change to the “Cascade Corner Report” or something along those lines before long. Today’s picture is of Twister Falls on the Bechler - no fishing here!
This week will feel more like late summer than early fall; so bit it – terrestrials will still be in play as will a variety of hatches.
Just like last week you might see some lingering PMDs, though baetis, Gray Drakes, Mahoganies, Tricos, and Callibaetis should be in play pending the weather (read sun exposure) more than anything. We’d also be nymphing the heck out of the better runs if we were back in there today.
A simple but true reminder - the Bechler and Fall may offer some of the finest September and early October dry fly fishing you’ll find in the Park and the entire region; it’s made even more special by the fact that you can’t park the car right there and fish.
If you have been in and fished the river, we will gladly credit you for information we can post in an update, please shoot us an email! As we get more data, we’ll provide better information to you.
