With the unseasonably warm weather due this week, and it should be in the 80s near Gardiner, it’s still hopper-dropper time.  A friend who knows the area very well said he’s headed to the confluence tomorrow to throw a hopper-dropper rig, and he’d heard from the Parks guys that it’s good up to the high bridge too.  Could be a few Caddis later in the day; by the calendar baetis are an option, but in this weather odds are they’ll be few and far between.

Brookies are still the game on the upper river, but plentiful mostly below Sheepeater cascade; above that feature the brookies have thinned considerably as they’ve headed to yonder parts for the spawn.

As noted last week - the Gardner’s July floods are old news, but the impact on the river remains. We still agree with the guys at Park’s in Gardiner that you really should leave the middle section of the river alone until next year and give the survivors a chance to recover.

Flows were 135 cfs at 0545, with today’s average 134 cfs; flows have been steady all week for the most part.
