For those venturing to Yellowstone in the near future, don’t forget that Saturday is a free entry day in honor of National Public Lands Day. Camping will be free at Norris on the 26th (have to call 307.344.2052 before the 24th). The Park is also looking for volunteers to work on the Wapiti Lake Trail in the Canyon area. (We heard an NPS radio talk show host declare yesterday that wapiti means “big deer”. Wow - time to get out of New York and see the world.)
This day and age you can’t get much for nothing unless you own a major Wall Street brokerage or lower yourself to be a politician….
Personally we’ve taken to fly into the Park from Bozeman, and are fitting this thing with pontoons over the weekend. Works great until the snow flies.
