We’ve had a challenge rounding up a reliable report this week; though have received lots of “best guesses” about the Bechler and Fall.  We’re looking for a few good fisherfolk to share a first hand report about the conditions.

Indian summer weather has kept terrestrials alive and kicking, though we’d guess like everyone else that you won’t see many of these bugs around until noon or better, and pending some sun.

The clock is ticking on hatches – pending cloud cover you’ll have a good chance of seeing baetis, Gray Drakes, Mahoganies, Tricos, waning Caddis and Callibaetis.  Nymphing would of course be fair game, and streamers could make sense when some clouds return later in the week.

We still hold to what we noted last week - the Bechler and Fall may offer some of the finest September and early October dry fly fishing you’ll find in the Park and the entire region; the clock is ticking though – can you believe October is coming in a few days?

If you have been in and fished the river, we will gladly credit you for information we can post in an update, please shoot us an email!  As we get more data, we’ll provide better information to you.
