Talk is cheap – we’ll believe it when it happens, but the weather guys and gals are sure talking like we’re due some weather in the neighborhood starting tonight.  A winter storm warning has been put in place (blue on the map, the purple is a winter weather advisory) – and it’s going to cool a bit. 

Don’t let a little snow keep you off the river – though this is a weekend to check the latest reports as to temps and weather, and make sure you’re prepared for some very cold, probably windy, and wet weather. 

West Yellowstone is forecast to reach 33 on Friday with a 70% chance of snow, 33 on Saturday with a 70% chance of snow, 31 on Sunday with a 60% chance of snow, and 38 on Monday with some sun.   The coldest night looks like Sunday at 15 – goodbye Mr. Hopper. 

Gardiner is forecast to reach 34 on Friday with a 90% chance of snow, 35 on Saturday with a 100% chance of snow, 36 on Sunday with a 50% chance of rain / snow, and 42 on Monday with some sun.  

Cooke City is forecast to reach 28 on Friday with a 90% chance of snow, 27 on Saturday with a 90% chance of snow, 28 on Sunday with an 80% chance of snow, and 38 on Monday with some sun.   The coldest night looks like Saturday at 12.  The Lamar is the slowest water to cool in the northeast corner.

Bozeman is forecast to reach 37 on Friday with an 80% chance of snow, 35 on Saturday with a 70% chance of snow, 30 on Sunday with a 70% chance of snow, and 45 on Monday with some sun.  

Forecast snow amounts are pure guesswork, but as of this morning, they’re saying lower elevations could see as much as 10 inches, with 20 or better in the mountains.
