Since our update last week the river took a fair amount of rain runoff and discolored, though flows have come down quite a bit from the peak spike on the 6th.

Flows today (Flagg Ranch station) are 225 cfs at 0530, with today’s average 341 cfs.  The recent flow spike due to rains peaked on the 6th and has been gradually declining since then.

Your approach to the river will be for the most part weather dependent (after the clarity issues are settled in the next few days).

On the cooler, overcast days, consider starting off with a streamer or streamer / nymph set up in the deeper holes and runs.  Baetis should make their midday appearance, and there still should be some caddis around in the afternoons.

On the sunnier, warmer days it still probably makes sense to start the day of with a streamer or streamer / nymph set up in the cool of the day, and then change over to a terrestrial (hopper, ant, beetle)/ dropper rig to prospect with.  Attractors and a double nymph set up would also be viable options.

The run through Grand Teton National Park is still fishing well, and there’s lots of water being released out of Jackson Lake - you might think about a Snake float through Grand Teton if you’re fishing this neck of the woods.  The flow gauge below the dam at Moran was malfunctioning this morning - no flow volume is availabe.
