The Type 2 Incident Management Team has been making great progress on the Owl Fire this week - they are reporting today that the fire is now 60% contained, and they are beginning to downsize the ground and air crews. The Daly Creek trail has been reopened for day use, though that is not big news for fisherman. We were up there fishing the upper Gallatin the evening before, and as we noted in our previous post smoke was not an issue even then.
Kudos and thanks to the fire fighters, and may the weather hold to contain this fire further.
