We’ve all been looking for that more potent fall storm, looks like one is knocking on the doorstep.

West Yellowstone has been included in a snow advisory for 4 to 8 inches of snow abov 5500 feet;  the area includes a fair amount of south central and southwest Montana.  Rainfall amounts may be in the 1/2 to 1 inch range west of that area and may include areas in the western part of the Park.

Gardiner is forecast at this point to receive as much as 1/2 inch of rain, though will likely not see snow in the lower river valley elevations.

Might make travel interesting particularly for those who may not be accustomed to snow and slush - be thoughtful and prepare accordingly.

We’re sure looking for BWOs this weekend and will be chasing them on Sunday - here’s to a little rain and snow to improve the fishing…
