Continuing our series on BWO strategies….

Of course the drying dun, trapped on the surface with wings too wet to fly, is also an easy and highly visible target to the fish. 

Again, lots of good patterns here - we favor the Sparkle Dun, Parachute Baetis (my old eyes really can see this one better), and the CDC Comparadun. 

BWO spinners aren’t a common target for the fly fisherman, though a soft hackle can make sense - a buddy weights his leader with a small shot, casts upstream, sinks the fly, and jigs ever so slightly to imitate the swimming female…
