An afternoon event I thought I’d be stuck going to cancelled early this afternoon, therefore what came to mind but going fishing.  Quickly throwing all the gear in the truck, I headed up to the upper Gallatin just inside the Park.  It was 33, breezy out of the south, and overcast.

Quickly suiting and gearing up, I noted that in my haste I had forgotten my fingerless gloves - no problem, it’s only 33, right?  Swinging a BHFBPT soft hackle down and across was easy enough, even though a little ice starting forming in the guides.  My hands didn’t bother me until unhooking the second little ‘bow, and then it seemed to get a little windier.

I lasted about an hour and half, headed for coffee in Big Sky, and to find those danged gloves……

The Gallatin by the way was fairly dirty below Taylor Fork, as expected that’s where almost all of the Gallatin mud is coming from- it looked great above.
