Another sunny day on the Firehole today.  Shirt sleeve weather (almost 50 and little wind), crystalline water, and a few BWOs.  We spent midday / early afternoon swinging soft hackle FB PTs, soft hackle GRHE, and simple FB PTs - it was steady, with fish a little larger today than we’ve seen in a bit.  A sputtering BWO, midge, and later a small (18ish) lighter colored caddis were coming off - we stayed with the soft hackles the entire outing and were quite happy.

We’d planned to spend a bit of time on the Madison, but there were a few more fishermen around and the Firehole was calling.

We’d all like to see a cloudy, drizzling day, but skies like in the picture above have made Yellowstone and Montana deservedly famous….
