Slough Creek has continued to slow a bit, and has offered pretty challenging fishing for those venturing to its banks.

There’s no flow gauge on Slough Creek, so there is no flow data to follow  - clarity will in all likelihood be an issue still as the warm temps have been melting last week’s snow and pushing a bit of mud.

There’s no question, things have slowed quite a bit in the NE corner.  Last week’s snow and rain, followed by the warmth this week have kept runoff running into the river most of the week, and the NE corner waters have been dirty.

We agree with Walter Wiese at Park’s that cold evening water temps have almost shut down the hatches - talked to a guy yesterday in the Park who had been over there the day before and said that Slough wasn’t totally dirty, but they saw only sputtering BWOs late and nothing else.

Frankly there are so many other better waters in the Park right now, we consider the NE sector waters done for the year.  I guess an advantage of fishing over there now is you won’t be fighting the crowds, but for obvious reasons.

Finally, if you still want to go anyway, there’s been a fair amount of bear activity over here late this fall - don’t fish alone and carry some bear spray in the vest or pack.
