Slough Creek hasn’t changed a lot since our last report on the 13th - we’re changing our update schedule and she came up again already.

There’s no flow gauge on Slough Creek, so there is no flow data to follow  - with the rain due this week clarity will again potentially be an issue.

There’s no question, things still pretty slow in the NE corner.  We agree with Walter Wiese at Park’s that cold evening water temps have almost shut down the hatches - talked to a friend Sunday evening at an event in Bozeman who had been over there Sunday morning and early afternoon in the pretty sunshine.  There were sputtering BWOs and a few midges, but low water and spooky fish made for a tough day.  As we talked about most of the summer, these fish were pounded all summer and early fall, and they require perfect presentations to be fooled at this point.

They were run off the water about 1500 by two grizzly sows and cubs in the area - one sow approached and spooked ‘em a little - given the history in the NE corner of the Park this year, I don’t blame them at all for bugging out of there.

Frankly there are so many other better waters in the Park right now, we consider the NE sector waters done for the year.  I guess an advantage of fishing over there now is you won’t be fighting the crowds, but for obvious reasons.

Finally, if you still want to go anyway, there’s been a fair amount of bear activity over here late this fall - don’t fish alone and carry some bear spray in the vest or pack.
