We’ve not been down and fished it yet, but reliable reports have come in from one of our Park sources - the Lewis River Channel browns are moving in good numbers. This run is one of the more dense brown trout runs around, and with weather like we have tap this week it could be quite a show.
For the fly fisherman it’s time to drag to drag out the 7 or 8 weight, tie on the 0x leader, and crank out the streamers. Our ranger friend who called us about the run spent her day off with friends using light and dark (yellow, white, olive, black, brown) woolly buggers, sparkle buggers, JJs, and zonkers - she said everthing worked, with the last two hours of daylight better than the first two of morning light and much better than mid day.
Might be a little snow on the roads this week, drive carefully…..
