Even with some work to do in the office today we just couldn’t resist a run to the Park.

There’s something magical about the first few more substantial fall snows, and Jake had a bone to pic with a brown on the Madison near the confluence, so we headed up there.  The new snow, thin crowds, and temps near 40 made for a very nice day, even if it was a little breezy later in the afternoon.

At the urging -  no make that the challenge of a good friend and mentor (Ed), we played with a variety of approaches today, and connected on a handful of different streamers and soft hackles, our best a simple BH Olive Bugger with a FB PT trailing nymph dropper.

Should be great fishing this weekend; we’ll post some more pics tomorrow morning.

For those who know the Park well, this pic is obviously the lower most Gibbon just above the confluence - Jake’s big one ran him up here from the confluence.
