Just checking flows in the Park this morning, and not unexpectedly with yesterday’s rain and melting snow, as well as more coming this morning, most of the rivers in the Park have spiked flows today.

We’ve posted already that Soda Butte’s flows have almost doubled overnight;  the Lamar’s have more than doubled - and we’d bet that Slough’s have too - the NE corner waters will be dirty for a few days.

The Gardner has bumped from the low 90s to 150 cfs (as of 2330 last night), so it’s probably higher and most likely off today.

Both the Firehole and Madison have bumped flows significantly today - the Madison (western Park border) from 353 cfs yesterday morning to 511 cfs at 0515 today, and the Firehole (Madison Junction) from 253 cfs yesterday morning to 542 cfs at 0600.  The Gibbon is up a bit, but much less impressively.

The Fall on the southwest corner has more than doubled, and the Snake’s flows on the southside have really blown out - more than 4 times what they were yesterday!

Tactics may change a bit today, and by radar there’s more snow / rain on the way into the Park now…..

The picture was taken yesterday on the Madison.
