Didn’t have time to make it to the Park today, so ran over to the Lower Madison and waded Beartrap in the wind this afternoon with friends - the drive over was spectacular - views south to the Madison Range on top, and west below. The fishing was less than spectacular in the wind - decent fish on small (20) BH FB PT, BH PT soft hackles, SJ worms, and crayfish patterns. Impressively windy - it’s just something you have to handle, isn’t it?
Fall in Yellowstone and Montana brings a variety of conditions and weather - it’s just part of the fall fishing game.
