Slough Creek no doubt blew out late last week and over the weekend with the storm just like the Lamar and Soda Butte.
There’s no flow gauge on Slough Creek, so there is no flow data to follow - the other two main NE corner rivers have been settling, though the warm weather due will melt some snow and push some more water through. Our guess is tomorrow’s water will look a lot better than today’s.
Just as we posted on the 16th - there’s no question, things are still pretty slow in the NE corner. We agree with Walter Wiese at Park’s that cold evening water temps have almost shut down the hatches - on the right day and if the stars line up just right you might see a short BWO hatch, and there are still some midges around. The warmer weather we’re due in next few days could enhance that a bit, maybe……
A buddy was run off the water about a week ago by two grizzly sows and cubs in the area - one sow approached and spooked ‘em a little - you need to be on your toes back here.
Frankly there are so many other better waters in the Park right now, we consider the NE sector waters done for the year. I guess an advantage of fishing over there now is you won’t be fighting the crowds, but for obvious reasons.
