Weather has been a hot topic this summer in Yellowstone and Montana (literally and figuratively) -  we check it every day, sometimes several times a day just like you do.

The zone forecast for Yellowstone suggests overall the cooling trend of the past few days will continue - highs are forecast to be in the 72 to 79 range, with lows in the 40 to 46 range - this should help the overheated waters cool a bit (and our days are gradually lengthening just a bit).  The chance of rain is officially forecast at 20% daily through the forecast period - that’s a CYA forecast.   Looks pretty decent through Monday.

Yellowstone rains have significantly affected the waters in the northeast section of the Park in the past 10 days.  We have found that the new radar array on Weather.com is pretty darn accurate in tracking where in the Park (or anywhere else for that matter) it’s raining.  You can zoom the map down very tightly and see where the rain is falling, and their cloud cover feature is really nice too.  You still have to check the flows, but it does help to see where it’s raining in detail.
