The Yellowstone River in the Park has cleared after the Friday storm this week; last week’s Friday and Saturday storm was much more disruptive in terms of water clarity.  Warm temps due in the next few days could put dirty snow melt back in the river - check conditions before making a long drive.

Flows at the Yellowstone Lake Outlet remain very low overall -  today (0515) flows are 493 cfs with today’s average 704 cfs.

Below Fishing Bridge right now is probably some of the least productive water in the Park - see you next opening day July 15th.

Yellowstone Canyons - just like last week - we’re getting close to the time of year when this section shuts down, though there are still decent BWO hatches coming off on some days, and we’ve heard reports of decent streamer fishing.  We very much agree with Walter Wiese at Park’s in Gardiner that this section will pretty much shut down when it gets cold - not sure if that’s going to happen this last week of the Park season or not.

Near Gardiner and below has produced some decent fishing - we’ve heard wind has been an issue this past week, and most of the guys we’ve talked to that were fishing this section we pitching streamers.  On the right kind of day you’re still likely to see some baetis - think foam lines, riffle corners and back eddies.
