We just today received this great email from Ken -
Thanks and glad to join in. I just got back from two weeks at YNP. Stayed at Norris and fished from the opener on the Yellowstone till it got dark(except for the thunder and lightning) on the Gibbon the night before I left.
Just wanted to let you know that you were a major source of information for the trip. Found you thru google and thoroughly enjoy the site. Gleaned as much information as I could. Where to go, what to use etc and put it to good use. Cleaned up on the Yellowstone. Several large Cutthroats the biggest going 23 1/2″. All on parachute Adams with the water covered in big grey and green drake spinners. Another 20 incher from Soda Butte on a HF Hopper, and probably the most fun, a couple of big browns and several small to medium ones out of the Gibbon on parachute hoppers and matukas. Throw in a bunch of little brookies and some rainbows out of a creek I couldn’t even find a name for and this was the best trip I’ve had in years.
Thanks again
I’ll be back
Ken
Yes, it’s hot, and the water isn’t optimal, but with some patience and effort, and working waters that are in decent shape, you can have a great trip right now. Kudos to Ken.
