Hard to believe this is basically the final day to fish in the Park this season - where did the time go? While not the river’s best season by any means, there’s been fishing to do this fall.
Flows at the Yellowstone Lake Outlet remain very low overall - today (0515) flows are 479 cfs with today’s average 659 cfs.
Below Fishing Bridge - see you next opening day July 15th.
Yellowstone Canyons - today would probably be a marginal bet - streamers might turn some fish, but in all honesty, there’s better water in the Park to fish today.
Near Gardiner and below has produced some decent fishing again this week - we’ve heard wind has had been better this week up until yesterday, and it appears the most productive approach has been streamers.
Fish are on their redds - wade carefully!
We updated the Yellowstone River outside the Park on Best Fly Fishing Montana today- click here and you’ll go right to the report blog. The Montana section of the Yellowstone below the Park has weeks of good fishing left - we’ll be updating that water routinely through the late fall and early winter.
