Another anthology of a Montana fly fishing guide’s thoughts on fishing, guiding sports, and life in general - Cast Again takes a bit of different angle in that it is written by an immensely talented woman  - Jennifer Olsson, who happens to live here in the fly fishing mecca of Bozeman.

The book is a story of a woman’s life shaped around the oft male dominated world of fly fishing.  She provides a view of the feelings and aesthetics of fly fishing that few authors, male or female, have been able to crytalize into meaningful prose.  Olsson writes about many different topics - her family, her fly fishing husband, but we’ve enjoyed her stories about outings with sports / clients most of all.   Having guided a bit ourselves and observed many sports out with their guides on the water, we find her descriptions engaging, true to the absurdities of real life, and more witty than Gierach’s.

A great gift for a wife / girlfriend / significant other who enjoys a great read, though we think this is a book that should be read and enjoyed by all who love to cast a fly.

We’re working on an interview - stay tuned……
