We had a chance this afternoon to run up to the Park section of the Gallatin, fishing just below Specimen Creek. We were on the water about three hours admist passing shower squalls with an occasional peal of thunder, pretty windy, and a nice cool afternoon. We did well trailing gold Lightning Bugs below hoppers and a tan caddis.
Interestingly the water was a bit stained even though it appeared there had not been significant amounts of rain in the Gallatin drainage this afternoon; radar right now (2100 the 10th) shows some heavier rains moving through there now. The Gallatin may be off tomorrow and potentially Sunday pending the rainful amounts - check and plan accordingly if the Gallatin is/was a target this weekend.
