Continuing our series on midges….

There are a truckload of very good midge pupa patterns out there, some quite simple and others a handful to tie due to their complexity and necessary small size.   Some of the more popular ones include the Serendipity, Queen Jane, Banded Midge, CDC Midge Emerger, Glass Midge, Lil L Pupa, Chans Chironomid Pupa, and Chironomid Pupa to name a few. 

A lot of our fishing neighbors fish a Serendipity as again it’s easy to tie and effective.  Don’t be afraid to try something new……

The fly on the top is Orvis’ Beadhead Serendipity, and on the bottom right is High Country Flies’ Lite Brite Serendipity.
