Enjoy watching those short video clips of the guys and gals fishing on some great river on a great day - we do, and we’ve been working on different approaches to video for some time.  Like lots of folks around - we’ve carried video in the boat when drifting, but the video cameras have just been to bulky to tote around when hiking and wading.  Well, times have changed.

Several buddies have picked up one of the small flash video camcorders and love them.  The cameras are small enough to fit in a pocket (1 x 2.5 x 4. 5 inches, weighs a tad over 4 ounces).   There are several on the market, but the most full featured for the price (hands down) is the RCA EZ201 Small Wonder 60 Minute Point and Shoot Camcorder.

This little powerhouse records up to 60 minutes of video (up to four hours with an SD card in the provided expansion slot), has a flip out color display, a retractable built in USB connection, and comes with pretty handy software.

You’ll not shoot professional quality video, but for sharing with friends and family by email and uploading to popular video sharing sites - the video quality is impressively good.  Combine the durability and tiny size of this product -  it just can’t be beat for the river, and you’ll use it for vacation and family events time and time again.

The other amazing thing about this camera is the cost - it’s inexpensive enough that if it went for a swim you wouldn’t sweat it - not like the other camcorders that cost a grand or more.

We’ve been following reviews closely - CNET and Wall Street Journal have both recently given the camera very high marks - we’ve asked Santa for one of these this year…….
