It’s true - we’re jumping for joy in the Yellowstone region these days - it’s been cold and a fair amount of snow has fallen thus far considering the time of year. I was out for an early morning meeting at 0530 today and brushed another 2 inches of powder off the truck on our brisk 2 degree morning.
Bozeman is at its heart a ski town - when there’s new, fluffy powder on the windshield in the morning you can be dang sure most of us aren’t thinking about classes or work - it’s a powder day. Moonlight Basin opens today, Big Sky Resort opened in part last week, and our beloved by the locals Bridger Bowl will open on the 8th.
The great thing about all this snow is it eventually melts and feeds our rivers next spring. We’re a long way from a meaningful snowpack yet (yes, it’s only the 30th of November), but snowpack measurements are off to a very nice start this fall……
