Just posted today - after meeting in Helena, the Montana Wolf Management Advisory Council has suggested that the overall wolf population in the state be kept at roughly 400 animals.
That suggestion would indicate that up to 130 wolves could be eradicated in Montana through hunting and livestock damage control if indeed the wolf is delisted in February as is anticipated. Read the full story from the Helena Independent Record edition today.
The Advisory Council’s recommendation will be sent on to the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks Commission for discussion and action at their pending 20 December meeting.
