Capturing the power of Yellowstone in a photograph is much easier said than done; if you’re like us, you’ve shot thousands of pictures in the Park to produce a dozen really great shots.
Author and photographer John Juracek, former partner in West Yellowstone’s Blue Ribbon Flies, has captured many of those “once in a lifetime” photographs in his Yellowstone: Portraits of a Fly-Fishing Landscape anthology.
Yellowstone’s waters are indeed magical, and the challenge for a photographer is to get out of the way and let the waters weave their spell - Juracek had done just that.
We agree fully that there is nothing like standing in the Firehole on a cool October evening, but when you can’t get there - this is pretty darn close.
Highly recommended - and enjoyed.
