Finally, an “official announcement” from the Park - all rivers are now restriction free as of 2 PM this afternoon.
Interesting that the plan apparently changed from Monday when we first caught wind of this - they were planning to continue “hoot owl” restrictions at that point on the Firehole.

We’ve had lots of questions this morning about our post yesterday suggesting that YNP will lift the “hoot owl” restrictions on all the Park’s waters except for the Firehole effective tomorrow the 22nd.

We’ve just heard (about 3:30 PM) from an as of yet unverified source that the Park will lift all restrictions effective Wednesday the 22nd, except on the Firehole. Sounds nifty - we’ll reconfirm and share any more information we can dig up.

Yellowstone National Park announced a tightening of restrictions on many of the park waters on the 20th of July . Water temps on many of the Park waters had skyrocketed in the weeks prior to the restrictions being announced, and weather for the most part has been hot since that time.
